Olli Ortiz

Olli was guided into the practice of Shotokan karate by his father Sensei Willy Ortiz from a very early age, 7 years old, and through a patient and relentless training, he has become an excellent karateka and the best competitor in Finland in both categories kata and kumite.
He dominated the category of under 65 kg. for 7 years. Besides, he has also won the open weight division in 1993,1996 and 1997. Also, among his victories can be included the prestigious "Helsinki Open Cup" in 1996 where he defeated two world champions: Dovy and Biamonti, both from France and repeated again in 1997 against different opponents. 

Ollin ollessa vasta 7-vuotias johdatti hänen isänsä, Sensei Willy J. Ortiz, hänet karaten pariin. Kärsivällisen ja väsymättömän harjoittelun tuloksena hänestä on tullut erittäin lahjakas karateka sekä Suomen paras kilpailija sekä katassa että kumitessa.
Olli on hallinnut alle 65 kiloisten sarjaa viimeisen viiden vuoden ajan. Sen lisäksi hän on myös voittanut avoimen sarjan kolmesti vuosina 1993, 1996 ja 1997 sekä arvossa pidetyn Helsinki Open Cupin 1996, jossa hän voitti kaksi ranskalaista maailmanmestaria: Dovyn ja Biamontin .

On November 13, 1999 Olli achieved the honor of being named the Head Coach of the Finnish team by the board of directors of the Finnish Karate Federation. Marraskuun 13. 1999 Olli nimitettiin Suomen Karateliiton joukkueen päävalmentajaksi.
